Three Days Entrepreneur Awareness Camp

Entrepreneur Development Cell conducted three days Entrepreneurship Awareness Camp sponsored by Department of Science andTechnology and Entrepreneurship Development Institute, Ahmadabad Government of India from 29 th January 2020 to 31 st January at TKP Hall. The Function inaugurated with the recital of prayer. Dr.H.Balakrishnan Principal, Sankara College of Science and Commerce welcomed the gathering with his warm and motivating words. Mrs.Nithya Ramachandran, Deputy Joint Secretary, Sankara Educational Institutions presided over the function and delivered the presidential address. The programme was inaugurated by the chief guests Mr. Suprej Venkat, HUBFLY Software Technlogies Coimbatore. He highlighted the criteria’s to become a real entrepreneur. He gave real time examples from his own HUBFLY technologies about the skills that will be needed to become a successful start up founder.

The Guest of honour for technical session 1 was Mr. S.N. Palaniappan, Founder, Habitos Idli dabba Pvt ltd, Coimbatore. He quoted the life examples of famous entrepreneurs from leading companies and explained the students to set up their idea, discuss the idea with the person who will be on that field and try it in the real time and also said that Entrepreneurs has to create path for themselves rather travelling in others path. The Guest of honour for technical session II was Mr. Naveen Manickam, CEO and Founder of Krishna Advertisements, Coimbatore. He addressed on “Social Innovations and Entrepreneurship.   He made the session most interesting by sharing some inspirational stories and also welcomed the students to come up with their own ideas for business.

The Guest of honour for technical session III was Mr. Ashyanth, Deputy MD, Sumangali Jewellers addressed the students on “Qualities of a great leader and Entrepreneur”. He explained the pattern in communication as LEAR (Listen, Explore, Acknowledge, Respond) and also said that Entrepreneurs should have good habits and right attitude. The Second day of the Camp was handled by Mr. A.V. Gnansambandam, CEO, Technology Business Incubator, TNAU, Coimbatore. He insisted about the opportunities existing in the Agri – Business and gave information on trainings offered for a start up idea and also encouraged student on enriching Creativity in business.

The next technical session V was by Mr Nikhil Vikamsey, Senior partner, Alpha capital Coimbatore. He explained the students about the characteristics of funding and also the difference between Businessman and Entrepreneurs. He also insisted that for a start up to excel in business transparency, innovation and Clarity is necessary. The next technical session VI was by Mr. Mohamad Hyder khan, Senior officer, TIIC, Coimbatore. He gave an insight on the features of TIIC and explained the schemes in the TIIC for young Entrepreneurs. The Guest of honour of technical session 7 was Mr. Ashwin Kashyap, Proprietor, Bowchow, Coimbatore. He suggested students to have an idea on developing a start-up and dream about the idea and to make the dream into reality he advised the students to understand the market needs, start learning and to find people looking for what they have, continuing with feedback with scalability. The Third day technical session was by Ms. Pranavi Jay, Life skill trainer, D.R.E.A.M.S. She insisted the students to have an up to date knowledge on current trends on the market to become a successful entrepreneur.

The Chief guest of Valedictory session was Mr. A. Chandrasekaran, Deputy Director (Technical), and Mr. Shanmuga Siva, Deputy Director, District Industries Centre, Coimbatore. Dr.H.Balakrishnan Principal, Sankara College of Science and Commerce welcomed the gathering. The Guest of honour Mr. A. Chandrasekaran and Mr. Shanmuga Siva, gave a brief introduction about DIC and schemes available in DIC for entrepreneurs. They motivated the students to look for opportunities in service and manufacturing sectors. The programme ended with vote of thanks by programme convenor and Head of the Department Dr. Priya Kalyanasundaram. At the end of the camp students where taken for an industrial visit to M/s.Sharp industries. The programme has created awareness on Entrepreneurship among all the participants.
